Marking the last year in which Europe will see new municipal building regulations, the European Union compiled a list of Europe’s most stunning towns and cities.
The directory, including 105 cities across 15 member states, is a part of the Brussels-based EU’s Strategy on Building the EU Economy. It aims to boost Europe’s construction sector as a means of boosting economic growth and creating new jobs.
The list, which takes into account the period up to February 1, 2016, when the new rules came into effect, contains a mix of locations representing Europe’s wealth of architectural traditions, as well as many distinctive areas and monuments that captured the imagination of people throughout history.
